I got this press release this morning in my inbox, and I couldn’t wait to get home from my meetings to post this! The wonderfully quirky and amazingly talented Anna Dello Russo is designing an accessories collection for H&M! Who can forget her famed “cherry hats” or the wonderful craziness of her ensembles, that on the average person might look nuts, but she somehow pulls off with class. And might I say, how does a woman above the age of 40, even 30 for some, pull off mini’s without looking the slightest bit vulgar?! She is “the” style icon of modern day, and every time I see her I am inspired….and that is why this collection excites me. Just in case you are interested, the collection will be available October 4, 2012.

I recently sat down with an old friend and colleague, Corinne, from Biko. Biko is a fantastic line of jewellery, created and made in Toronto. I have watched Corrinne’s line of jewellery grow over the years into a bustling business, I even have, as Corrinne adorably stated, “vintage Biko”, which I still proudly don regularly. A piece of Biko jewellery is a subtle attention-getter, much like Corinne is. Whether it is a unique charm necklace of old, a new edgy tiered bib or one of her amazing friendship bracelets. The collection has definitely become edgier over the years, and I love the evolution, well, I Love Biko!

Every couple of seasons, a particular model stands out a little more than the others; sometimes she is a new face, sometimes she’s not. This past fall/winter runway season, Aymeline Valade from France, was that face for us. She was already making waves the season before, by winning the title of First Face, by being the only model to open nine shows, and represented the most brands during that season. Will she defend the title?

Somehow, putting on leather has that ability to make any outfit look entirely badass. What to do when its too cold to don a leather jacket and combat boots? We swoon over these accessories from The Leather Atelier to leather-up our outfits and surroundings.

The geometric plate necklace is a must have and will shield collarbones from the elements. The engraving is reminiscent of church stained glass windows and the braided leather chain is divine. It makes us think of short shorts, cowboys boots and summer music festivals.

The leather atelier also makes a lot of useful and unique pieces that you would not usually think of for uses for leather. The leather coasters are creative and classy, giving us yet another reason to invite friends over for cocktails. Yet, they seem almost too amazing to actually use.
